The Intelvi Valley, located in the province of Como, on the border with Switzerland, is a beauty to be discovered.
Fully situated in the green pre-Alps, it is a wide and 15 km long valley, which follows the course of Lake Como with its characteristic inverted “Y” shape.

Surroundings

The roads around Lake Como are truly Valhalla for the motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists and hikers among us.
The roads wind along the shores of the lake and go through several tunnels where you can let the sound of the engine roar. Or quiet roads along the shores of the lake. Along the way you will see the most amazing waterfalls and there are plenty of villages like San Fedele Intelvi, Pognana Lario, Torno, Bellagio, Menaggio and Argegno with restaurants and bars overlooking the lake where you can taste the local specialties. You may also meet the world-famous George Clooney on a motorcycle. After all, he lives in the famous village of Laglio. More celebrities come to the lake, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, Robert de Niro are frequent guests in Como. Who knows, you may also meet them on the golf course of Villa D’Este or in one of the local bars in Cernobbio.

Cycling through the Intelvi Valley

In the valley there are miles of routes where one can enjoy cycling on the road but also with mountain bikes ( with or without electric assistance ) there are fantastic trails to cycle. A sports folder is available in our B&B for €2,00.

Golfing

For golfers there are three golf courses nearby where you can enjoy the beautiful nature and walk the holes. On each course you will encounter situations which will challenge you to use all your golfing skills.
Golf Club Villa d’Este Como in Montorfano is one of the oldest in Europe. In between you can have a delicious lunch in the clubhouse or at the end of the day enjoy a drink or dinner.
There is also the golf club on Lake near Menaggio Como, Golf Club Menaggio & Cadenabbia. Also well worth a visit.
At 4 km from the B&B is in the mountains Golf Club Lanzo Alte Valle Intelvi (Co). A beautiful 9 hole course with many surprises.

In Centro valle Intelvi there are several hiking trails, different in duration, environment, altitude difference and difficulty. You can enjoy the clean air, beautiful views, gorges and cute mountain villages with occasional simple but delicious meals in a rifugio or agriturismo.

Culinary

At Lake Como, in addition to enjoying Italian cuisine, you can also get several delicious local dishes of traditional cuisine. A typical dish is risotto with pesce persico, sciatt (fried cheese balls) pizzoccheri (pasta traditionally made from 80% buckwheat flour and 20% wheat flour), polenta a traditional dish made from semolina of corn, donkey stew (stufato di asino) but also yellow butter, ticino-style perch, missoltini and the most delicious pies.
For drinks, the most fantastic appetizers are available. Almost all bars serve with drinks a delicious antipasti with the most delicious meats, olives, pieces of sausage and always and delicious bowl of salty chips.

Spend the night

Our B&B is located in the middle of the valley in the village of San Fedele Intelvi overlooking Monte Generoso. At Villa il Maiale Bianco B&B you will be welcomed hospitably and escorted to the authentic rooms that will make you feel like going back to the early nineteenth century. The villa has been restored keeping as much as possible the old details but still providing fresh bathrooms with modern elements.

The villa’s location also lends itself perfectly to people passing through on their way to the other regions of Italy. In Switzerland you go off the highway and then the next day just a little further on in Como (Italy) to shoot back on the highway.
